Rain, rain, go away, come again another day....sound familiar? Ouch, I think I just dated myself. It's back...It stopped for a couple days then started again last night. What is this some kind of sick practical joke? Not funny. I'm not a duck. I don't have feathers, and I'm definitely not laughing. It's downright cold today. That's how we say it here in Ohio. Downright......means...freaking cold. Ok, moving on.... Everyone make it out of bed ok? Yea, it's rough. I worked last night until after 2am. I did meet an interesting chap on the phone and had a wonderful conversation. He publishes a magazine for those who own their planes and like to travel. It's called "Flying Adventures". Ever wonder why people get a divorce then actually get married again? And what about those who do like 3 times. What are they thinking? OK, maybe it didn't work out the first time, so you might be crazy enough to give it another go, but 3x? How many times do you have to prove to yourself that it just won't work. It could be all that "emotional baggage" you're carrying around. You're not even marrying just one person you're marrying all of their past spouses, and their kids, and re-living every scar and fight they've never resolved. Sound like fun? Kill me now. Have you heard about the FTC shutting down "Instant Internet Empires". The whole Net's been buzzing with it. It has also stirred fear in many small online business owners. Some of these people have even invented software to capitalize on this fear. If you have an online business it's important to have a privacy policy and a disclaimer or terms of use. You really don't need a high priced attorney or special software to generate them for you. If you do a search online you'll find plenty of sites that will allow you to purchase ready made forms or you'll even find free examples you can use. There are also many sites that offer generators where you can create your own privacy policy free. Just keep it honest and watch out for making outlandish claims in your ads that you can't back up and you'll keep yourself out of trouble. Anyone here write their own ebooks? I've had two major books in process for over a year. How do you find the time? Just keeping up with all of my daily responsibilities keeps me drained and unable to complete many of the long range projects I have planned. Maybe I need to read a book on time management? No problem. If you know where to look you'll find plenty of generators that will allow you to easily pump out some very slick menus. Let's take a look at some: 1)GuiStuff http://Guistuff.com You'll find plenty of free tools to jazz up your website at GuiStuff. They have dozens of "sweet" graphical interfaces. Styles range from digital, mechanical, sports, science and more. Download your selections as tiff or PSD files. 2) FlashButtons http://FlashButtons.com This is slick; choose a button style, type in your text and it builds a very cool template for you. When finished, download it. Free version puts a small ad back to the FlashButtons site or join as a member for ad-free navigation bars. 3) Dynamic Drive http://DynamicDrive.com/dynamicindex1/index.html If scripts are more your thing, don't miss the huge collection of freebies at Dynamic Drive. Have 'em slide in, slide out, hover, float and do many other really cool things. Follow the simple directions to copy and paste the code into your site, customize a few things, and you're good to go. 4) Cool Table Menu: http://www.wsabstract.com/script/script2/coolmenu.shtml If you're not a table guru, you'll love this little script which gives you a nice text menu laid out in a table. When you hover over a menu item, the color changes. Simply copy and paste the text and make a few changes and you're good to go. 5) Drop Down Navigating Menu Wizard: http://www.thesitewizard.com/wizards/navigationmenu.shtml Not very fancy but a great way to save space if you're working in tight quarters. This online generator creates a spiffy drop down menu with as many options as you need. Nice and free. 6) Scriptfx.com http://www.scriptfx.com/generators/online_tools_index.htm A full page of online menu generators awaits you at Scriptfx. Make vertical, horizontals, even menu trees. Pick your poison, type in your menu options and it does the work for you. So there you have it. You don't have to be an ultra hip web designer to make really cool navigation for your website. You just need to know where to look.
