What is it about time that the older you get it seems you get caught up in a "time warp". At least March will be here soon which means Spring weather will be here soon. I can't wait to be done with the cold and the snow. Winter can seem like such a long time here in Ohio and it can get depressing since we have so many days of gray skies and no sunshine. It took "George" forever to figure out what we should do in order to put the house back together and make it better. It's going to take awhile to do so I'm sure I'll be living in a construction zone for a long time but the end result will be worth it. It's going to be nice just to be able to have a real desk again and not have to go digging thru boxes everytime I need to find something. We aren't putting the fireplace in. Due to being paranoid of future fires we're going to go with gas. It's a bit boring for my taste but it will help set my mind at ease that the house won't catch fire again. Where's Smokey Bear when you need him? I started taking sales calls at work and I'm not impressed. There's a big difference between taking sales calls and service calls. I'm use to service calls but sales is a totally different animal. You need to ask a lot of questions and the calls are a lot longer then usual. They say I'll get use to it that I'll get better with time but for now I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. Have you ever used Google Alerts? If you haven't I highly recomend you go there now and put in your domain names. What the service does is monitor the Web and tells you when something appears online that contains your search word. I use my domain names for my alerts so I'm notified by Google every time they find a site that has my name on it. What I usually find is sites running my articles but lately I'm amaze to find people taking my articles and changing the titles and including no link back to my site for using them. Amazing how folks think they can take something that belongs to you and just do what they want with it online. Have they never heard of copyrights? So, if you've never tried this route for keeping tabs on your name I highly suggest that you do. "Even Search Engines Know the Value of Blogging"

You can't look very far online without seeing a
weblog, or blog. They're increasing in popularity
and many companies are starting to use them to
communicate with their customers about latest
projects or new products in a "human voice."

The major search engines have taken hold of this
new technology with a vengeance and many have
launched their own blogs. This is really a great
way to keep up with their latest comings and goings.

1) MSN Blog http://blogs.msdn.com/msnsearch

Everything you want to know about MSN Search and
its latest projects. A lot is written on their
Search Engine coming out of beta and where you
can submit your link. MSN also references some
of their favorite blogs. An XML Syndication feed
is available at the site as well.

2) Yahoo Blog http://www.YSearchBlog.com

As stated on their blog, this is a look inside
the world of search. Yahoo's blog doesn't seem
to center on itself as much as it does on a
variety of search related topics. Recent entries
are posted at the top of the blog so you can see
at a glance what's new. Like MSN they also include
links to other highly regarded blogs. Various
department employees are responsible for the
numerous postings.

3) Google's Blog http://www.google.com/googleblog/

Google's blog is all about (what else?) all things
Google. All of their latest projects such as Google
Maps,Image Search, Adwords, Google Video and much
more. If you're addicted to Google and its by
products, you'll want to bookmark this one. Postings
are made by a variety of employees, ranging from
software engineers to product managers.

4) Ask Jeeves Blog http://blog.ask.com

You know how all these years you thought the Ask
Jeeves guy was some tight lipped butler? I hate
to burst your bubble, but he's "coming out" (so
to speak) on their new blog, and his real name is
Kaushal Kurapati. He states that while he will do
most of the hblog postings there will be various
other contributors as well. Comments run the
gamut from their office decor to Firefox's browser
and even Ask Jeeve's recent purchase of Bloglines.

Since blogging involves daily or sometimes weekly
postings, it's a great way to get the updated scoop
on your favorite search engines. If it's too much
trouble to visit their websites you can always grab
their feeds and add them to your favorite news reader.
Your friends will be impressed when you know the
latest "skinny" on their favorite engine, and where
you got the information will be your "little secret."

Sometimes people post their comments to Blogs just
to get another incoming link to their site and
inflate their page rankings. There's a new tag
in town called "no follow" that you can use on
your Blogs or anywhere on your site wherer
people are allowed to leave their own postings.

Here's what a normal tag looks like:

That comment would be changed to this:

If you use this tag Google and many other search
engines won't give the link any credit when ranking
